John Holly was one of the original designers of the Havre de Grace style of carving. Some of his decoys were branded "CARROLLS ISLAND" an exclusive gun club was formed back in the 1830's for canvasback shooting. This may be the only or one of the only one

Condition Report: The white appears to be an early working overpaint which has mellowed nicely, the remainder appears to be in the original surface; very fine hairline crack in the bill and some wear to the wood along one side of the bill, otherwise excellent structurally.
