There are some minor nicks and small surface dints, and also a couple of minor cracks/splits to the openwork sides and possible repairs to one section, as the metal appears quite pitted. There is a split in the metal starting to appear around the base rim, mainly visible on the underside. The four struck marks are rubbed and partly obscured but still just legible. Various rim and edge chips to the blue glass liner.

Description: A 1930's silver bowl of shaped circular form and flared lip, hallmarked Elkington & Co Ltd Birmingham 1939, diameter measuring 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), weight 2.9 ozt (92 grams). Together with a pair of silver plated wine coasters and cased silver plated fish eaters for six place settings. (3).

Condition Report: All items in the lot display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The silver bowl displays numerous deeper scratches and nicks and also contact marks to the underside. There are a couple of small dints and knocks around the foot rim and also two or three minor dints to the main body. The hallmarks are clear and legible. Heavier tarnishing is visible to the coasters and they would benefit from a clean and polish. There are also some small slight surface dints and seam lines are visible. Remnants of polish visible to the embossed areas and a couple of tiny holes. The fish eaters are also quite heavily tarnished and there is quite a lot of damage to the handles. It appears as though the veneer has been stripped.

Description: 1930's silver four piece tea service, comprising coffee pot, teapot, sugar basin and cream jug, each piece of plain oblong shape with canted corners, angular handles and each raised above four stylised paw feet, the tea and coffee pots with ebonised handles and finials to hinged covers. Hallmarked Britton, Gould & Co., Birmingham 1935. Maximum teapot length measures 12 1/4 inches (31 cm), gross combined weight 62.32 ozt (1938.6 grams).

Condition Report: All four pieces in the lot display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some heavier tarnishing to some areas, especially on the tea and coffee pots, also deeper scratches to some areas and various minor nicks and surface dints and pitting marks. Many of the solder joins are visible and the seam lines on the two spouts are clearly visible, on the coffee pot this is starting to develop into a minor split on one edge. Both ebonised handles are loose in their mounts, especially the teapot handle. Hinged covers are in working order, finial to coffee pot is likely to be a replacement as it is not conforming in shape. The hallmarks appear slightly rubbed in places, especially the maker's marks, but all are still legible.

Description: 1920's silver matched condiment set comprising an open salt and a mustard pot with hinged cover, each of plain oval form and raised above four bun feet, hallmarked Gorham Manufacturing Co., Birmingham 1921, and a cylindrical pepper pot with spreading base and pierced domed lid, maker's mark and Assay mark obscured but likely to be Birmingham 1919 (lid 1921), all with blue glass liners; together with a silver plated condiment spoon. Silver weight 2.35 ozt (73.3 grams).

Condition Report: All pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and light tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Deeper scratches to some areas and various minor nicks and surface dints. Some more noticeable dints to the underside and base rim of the open salt and mustard, also some notable dints to the main body of the pepper pot. Hallmarks on the salt are clear and legible, the hallmarks on the mustard pot are quite rubbed and worn but still just legible. Part hallmarks to pepper pot lid are clear and legible, however maker's mark and assay office mark to main body are very worn and illegible. One of the glass liners is badly damaged and repaired, the other two display small rim nicks and chips.

Description: Early twentieth century set of six silver tot cups of plain goblet form, hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd., Birmingham 1916; together with a small oval tray, hallmarked Birmingham 1918, same maker, a single silver egg cup, hallmarked William Adams Ltd., Birmingham 1948, and a further single egg cup, stamped 800. Height of tot cups measures 2 3/8 inches (6 cm), sterling silver weight 7 ozt (219.2 grams). (9).

Condition Report: All the items display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some deeper scratches and minor nicks are visible, and also some slight surface dints. As the metal is quite thin, some of the bowls of the tot cups are a little misshapen. Some very slight knocks to the foot rims. There are a couple of small surface dints to the centre of the tray and various deeper scratches. There is some rubbing but the hallmarks are mainly legible. There is a slightly larger surface dint to the main body of the egg cup stamped 800.

Description: Early twentieth century silver christening mug of slightly tapering form with concentric banded decoration and later personal engraving, hallmarked London 1925, height measures 3 1/4 inches (8.2 cm); together with a modern silver miniature chamberstick, hallmarked Birmingham 1995, and a pair of floral and foliate decorated tongs, impressed 'sterling 925'. Combined weight 8.39 ozt (261 grams). (3).

Condition Report: All three items display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. Heavier tarnishing is visible to the chamberstick and mug and both would benefit from a clean and polish. Deeper scratches and nicks are also visible. The mug displays some minor surface dints and the main rim is a little misshapen. Hallmarks are a little rubbed but still legible. Mug bears engraved date to underside and later engraved initials to the main body. Hallmarks to chamberstick are legible.
