This beautiful block style pattern has been popular for over 80 years and many collectors are seeking it today. Established in 1901 in Bellaire, Ohio, the Imperial Glass company produced its first piece of glass in 1904. At one time, the company was the largest handmade glass factory under one roof in the U.S. The 1940s, 50s and 60s were a time of great growth for the Imperial Glass Company. They acquired Central Glass Works, the Cambridge Glass Company and many molds to distribute new pieces and patterns. By the 1970s, the company was close to bankruptcy. An arrangement with Lenox allowed them to continue operating for some time, but unfortunately they were forced to close their doors in 1984.
