ROSE QUARTZ SPHERE

Lot 156: ROSE QUARTZ SPHERE

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: ROSE QUARTZ SPHERE Minas Gerais, Brazil With its delicate pink blush, rose quartz is the most sought-after variety of quartz. The distinctive shade is thought to be caused by microscopic fibers of dumortierite in the stone, although has previously been ascribed to the presence of iron or titanic acid. The rose variety is rarely clear like other quartz, but is used for cabochons, where the color is of more importance, and in metaphysical crystallography is regarded as the best crystal for opening the fourth (heart) chakra. This is a fine example, and of a good large size at 11 inches in diameter.
