Description: Carte-de-Visite album relating to the family of the novelist Mary Elizabeth Braddon (1937-1915 , c. 1870s, inc. ports. of the author's uncle Frank Braddon and other family members, shots of Dublin and elsewhere in Ireland, contained in contemp. morocco album, slight wear, lacks one clasp, oblong 8vo The album, originally compiled by Frank Braddon, passed into the possession of his niece Mrs E. Adams. According to the copy of a letter tipped in at the front of this album Mrs Adams in turn passed the album on to William Babington Maxwell, son of Mary Elizabeth Braddon; the same letter tells of the delivery of Mary Braddon's novel (Lady Audley's Secret) to the family home. 1
