To which is Prefix'd an Account of the First Confederacy of the Six Nations, their Present Tributaries, Dependents, and Allies, reprinted and sold by T. Sowle Raylton and Luke Hinde, [1743'], 37pp., small repair to lower margin of last leaf, pages close-trimmed at head just touching a few page numbers, early 20th c. half morocco gilt, joints rubbed, slim 8vo Red morocco presentation book label to upper pastedown "presented to the New England Company by John W. Ford Esq. Governor 9th May, 1907" and also with New England Corporation bookplate. The Governor opened the conference held over the next ten days from July 2nd 1742 - July 12th 1742. The volume provides a detailed account and list of the members present each day. The last day ending "and the Indians having requested that they might have a small quantity of rum, to be added to their provisions, to comfort them on the road: the Board is of the opinion, that there be added to the said estimate for twenty gallons of rum for the aforesaid use. And in return for their present skins, at requesting that the Indian traders be enjoyed to sell their goods cheaper, the Board directs that two strouds be presented. And that five pounds be given to caxhayn on the account of the Province, for his services; and to Skiickalamy the like sum. A just copy; compared by Patrick Baird, Secretary". (1)
