Lot 2: EXTREMELY RARE CURLEW, CIRCA 1890 by John Dilley, (Quogue, NY).

Description: Refer to the article by Joe French pages 8-11 of Jan/Feb issue "Decoy Magazine". Very few curlews by Dilley are known to exist. CONDITION: Original paint with moderate wear and a warm mellow patina; several shot marks; otherwise structurally superb. (James McCleery Collection).

Lot 3: EXCELLENT SPLIT TAIL YELLOWLEG, CIRCA 1890 by John Dilley, (Quogue, NY).

Description: "Yellow Leg" is written in pencil under the tail. Another handwritten notation appears in front of the stick hole that is barely discernible but includes "XX". This notation has been seen on other Dilley shorebirds. Refer to the article on Dilley by Joe French, Jan-Feb 1994 issue of "Decoy Magazine". Upon closer inpection, further down under the tail, a star is sketched and what appears to be the letter "D" which.
