A photograph album compiled by an American Army Air Service balloonist, c. 1922, comprising approx. 140 mounted b&w photos on thirty-two leaves, including twenty-eight photos of airships and balloons, four showing the wreck of the Roma, plus eighteen photos of aircraft, plus photos of soldiers, army buildings and hangars, etc., the compiler identified as Private Albert Hottinger with the 19th Airship Company, based at Langley Field, Virginia, mostly identified on mounts in white china ink, images 16.5 x 23 cm and smaller, and many mounted as multiples to a page, all album leaves detached and loose in contemp. cloth covers with spine tie, rubbed, oblong small folio (1)
