At least in this lot, which consists of a collection of vintage movie posters, a Sister Corita anti-war poster, some unused greeting cards, and a group of anti-war and politically left-wing buttons.There are nine movie posters. Titles are "Modern Problems," "Cat People," "Ragtime," "The Four Musketeers," "Foolin' Around," "Airport '77," "The Dogs of War," and "Cannery Row." These are all large rectangular posters, around 27" x 40". All of them have been folded and preserved in plastic sleeves.The anti-Vietnam War poster by Sister Corita measures 20" x 26". It was originally folded upon manufacture, but has been rolled.There are 18 buttons in this collection. Two are from the anti-war Student Mobilization Committee (SMC). Buttons supporting Jimmy Carter, Angela Davis, and Bella Abzug are included; as is one supporting the people of East Bengal (now Bangladesh). Two buttons in this lot are earlier than the 1970s, and both have union-made marks on them. One was made in Rochester, NY by Bastian Bros. Co., and the other was made in Newark, NJ by the Whitehead & Hoag Co.Lastly, there are nine, unused, identical greeting cards with matching envelopes with the trademark of "Happy Time Cards."
