Description: Erens, F. "De conferentie." AUTOGRAPH STORY, pen and ink, 2 fold. lvs., recto and verso (7p.). = Story about a priest, situated in the fictitious Limburg village "Schaesheuvel". Later Erens told that he used experiences of his stay in the village Waubach, where his uncle served as a priest. Originally published in 1890 in De Nieuwe Gids, and causing somewhat of a stir in Limburg, the reason why Erens decided not to include it in the first edition of Dansen en rhytmen (1893). In the second edition of the work, published in 1925, the story eventually was included. WITH: Idem. Dansen en rhytmen. Amst., W. Versluys, n.d. (1893), 1st ed., (4),135p., orig. dec. wr. by ISAAC ISRAELS. - Sm. owner's entry on prel. page. Somewhat worn copy: wrappers soiled; spine sl. dam.; frontwr. and first quire loose. = The author's rare debut. On the design of the (different) covers for the clothbound edition and the edition in wrappers: De Boekenwereld, year 22, no.2, p.66-83. 't Mouvement? Wat bedoel je met 't mouvement? Dat ze dansen? Ik vind dat ze heelemaal niet dansen.'"
