The present offset printing, which was published on this occasion, reproduces the 307 x 217 cm large color photograph created in 2005 by Gursky.Condition:The offset print is in overall good condition. It is softly creased in places. The sheet is mounted to a mat along the reverse upper edge. The frame is in good condition with only slight signs of wear. The sheet-sized image measures 84.2 x 59.4 cm. The framed dimensions are 110.5 x 85 cm.Andreas Gursky (b. 1950)The photographer Andreas Gursky was born in Leipzig in 1950. He studied visual communication at the Folkwangschule Essen from 1978-81 and photography at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1981-1987 where he became a master pupil of Bernhard Becher in 1985. He received the ‘First German Photography Award’ in 1989. Gursky’s images stand in the tradition of the documentation. They present different objects of architecture and nature as well as interior spaces to the observer. The formal clearness of the image captured, the objectivity as well as the systematic and conceptual way of proceeding, characteristically refers to photo works of the Becher-circle.Gursky has exhibited internationally, including Venice Biennale of Architecture, Shanghai Biennale, 25th São Paolo Biennial, and the 12th Biennale of Sydney. Along group shows, he had numerous solo exhibitions including the Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Vancouver Art Gallery, Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, Kunstmuseum Basel, Haus der Kunst, Munich, Museum of Modern Art, New York, Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg and the Deichtorhallen Hamburg.Gursky ranks worldwide as one of the most successful contemporary photo artists. He lives and works in Düsseldorf. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
