In 2009 he founded the Institute for Spacial Experiments for the University of Arts in Berlin. Among others, Elíasson has been awarded with the Mies van der Rohe-Prize and the Joan Miró-Prize. His work can be found internationally in major museums and private collections since he is regarded one of Europe's most influential contemporary artists Ólafur Elíasson lives and works in Berlin.
