Luc Tuymans (b. 1958)From 1976 to 1982, Luc Tuymans first studied fine arts in Brussels, and then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, followed by a study of art history at the Free University of Brussels. His participation in the documenta 9 in Kassel in 1992 gave him international notoriety. Since then, he held many solo and group exhibition around the world. Tuymans’ works are represented in the collections of numerous major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, as well as the Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt.
