Condition Report: Excellent as-found condition with no restoration, pitcher with only very minor glaze wear to lower edge of foot, bowl with glaze flaking to front rim and one handle, other minor glaze flaking/wear, one handle with a single hairline and other with two hairlines, light wear and a few minor flakes to interior.

Description: SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA SLIP-DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE HANDLED BOWL, lead, copper and manganese glazed with white and yellow slipping, truncated globular form with two strap handles attached at the rim and with flat-trimmed lower terminals, rim with inner flange, raised on a pronounced foot. Slip-trailed, imbricate decorations below the rim separated by rudimentary plumes above six lower rings, additional decoration on the handles and terminals. Probably Peter Bell, Winchester, Virginia or the Hagerstown, Maryland area.

Condition Report: Good as-found condition with no restorations or repairs, expected losses to glaze and slipping, thumb-size spall to one side at shoulder, chipping to foot.
