by NYDJ Chinese Art Gallery

April 5, 2015, 10:30 AM EST

New York, NY, USA

Estimated Price: $20,000 - $30,000

Red Lotus-Flowers with Ink-Painted Leaves Attributed to Qi Baishi (1864-1957) 53 1/2 X 19 1/2 inches 134.6 X 55.6 cm Ink on Paper Inscribed & signed with three artist seals.

Claude Etienne Savary. Lettres Sur L'Egypt, Ou l'on off

Lot 45078: Claude Etienne Savary. Lettres Sur L'Egypt, Ou l'on off

by Heritage Auctions

April 8, 2015, 11:00 AM EST

New York, NY, USA

Estimated Price: $800 - $1,200

Description: Claude Etienne Savary. Paris: Onfroy, 1785-1786. First edition. Three octavo volumes. v, 351; [2], 310; [2], 310 pages. Four folding plates (three maps and one plan). French mottled calf, spines gilt, title labels, minor wear, the bindings do not quite match (though at a glance quite similar), but an old owner's name on all three title-pages show the books have been contemporaneously together, it may be that the binder (or binders?) who did volume one a year before could not quite match the volumes. Most noticeably, volume one has marbled endpapers. Minor tears in folding plates facing volume one's pages iv, 74, and 350. Small hole in fore-edge of volume one's rear free endpaper from biopredation. Otherwise very good copies. Monglond IV, 617. Navari 1492. Hilmy II, 214. Kalfatovic 157. Gay 1622. Blackmer 977. Wilbour 660. Cox I, 386. Cioranescu 59673-4. From the Krown & Spellman Collection. Please visit HA.com/6117 for an extended description of this lot.
