Description: Engraved Gold Inlaid Franz Kettner Double Barrel Rifle This is a beautiful example of a double barrel rifle manufactured by Franz Kettner. The rifle features a raised ramp front blade sight and two leaf rear sight with one fixed and one folding leaf on the solid matte rib. The breech end has factory provisions for a claw mounted scope. The dolls head extension and breech end of the barrels are engraved. The top of each barrel at the breech is marked with a round "KRUPP/STAHU", the top of the right barrel has gold inlaid "FRANZ KETTNER" and he top left has "KOLH - SUHL" also gold inlaid. There is a sling swivel mounted on the underside of the barrels. The water table is marked with an eagle and "crown/U" pre-war German Nitro commercial proofmark, as well as the serial number. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrels under the forearm and on the forearm hardware. The scalloped action is engraved with fine English scroll and rosette designs. The same engraving design is also on the break lever. Horn trigger guard, blue barrels and break lever, casehardened action, triggers and forearm hardware. Double adjustable triggers, cocking indicators, ejector, wrist mounted safety with gold "SICHER", and mounted with a beautifully figured extra fancy multi-point checkered walnut semi beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with engraved grip cap, cheek piece, Pachmayr Old English recoil pad and sling swivel. Length of pull is 15 inches. Comes with a green Boyt takedown soft case. Manufacturer: German Model: Double Barrel BBL: 24 3/4 inch solid rib Stock: walnut Gauge: 9 mm Finish: blue/casehardened Grips: Serial Number: 750 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Very fine as professionally custom upgrade/refurbished with only light handling/storage marks. A beautiful custom refurbished double rifle made by the pre-war German Master Gunsmith Franz Kettner. The case is excellent.
