Am. Consul at that port…" Signed by Christopher Bently. Samuel Snow (1758-1838) served in the American Revolution as a Captain in the 1st Rhode Island Continental Infantry. He was appointed American Consul at Canton, China by President John Adams. The "Ann & Hope" was lost at sea off Block Island, Rhode Island, in 1806.
