Description: COLLECTORS EDITION 17TH CENTURY HAND CRAFTED WOODEN VEN **|**|** The Venetian gondolas around the 17th century were commonly used for transportation around the Grand Canal in Venice. Today, they are used as an iconic boat for mostly tourism. It is available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model ready to be proudly display as a piece of history. Master craftsmen handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch using historical photographs, drawings and original plan. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires many hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. The hull is beautifully painted in black and then varnished in several layers. The deck is decorated with several golden sculpture. Seating are and stern deck are painted in red. It has a gold plated ornament at the bow. The model comes with one black painted oar. A hand stitched pillow casing is tied up against the cockpit on the opposite of the red wooden seat. There is a wooden platform for the gondolier to stand on. This model also come with a wood base with a brass nameplate. It

Made of embossed 800 silver it features a gadrooned décor and a curved and chased edge.There are two ovoid and movable handles on the narrow sides of the tazza. In addition to his romantic paintings the Roman artist also created several sculptures of beautiful women. The girl's charming face and the curly hair are finely rendered. The lower part of the base is roughly chiseled. This creates a wonderful contrast between the smooth surface of the skin and the uneven surface of the base.The bust is in good condition. It is signed on the back 'F. Troso' inside a cartouche. The overall height is 55.5 cm.Fernando Troso (1910-1990)Fernando Troso learned the art of sculpture in the workshop of his father. At the age of seventeen he moved to Rome, where he worked as a stonemason. In 1928 he created his first bust, depicting Pope Pius XI. He showed his early paintings in an exhibition in Rome in 1934. Further exhibitions, mainly in Rome, followed. In 1956 Troso participated in the Venice Biennale. In his paintings, the artist often depicted pastoral world, defined by a nostalgia for the past. Description: Lieutenant-General the Right Honorable the Lord Freyberg, VC, GCMG, KCB, KBE, DSO*** signed 25 x 19 cm photograph. A brilliant officer, who won the Victoria Cross and 4 Distinguished Orders and who, as a New Zealander, became an outstanding Commander of New Zealand Forces during WW-2. Died 1963. A veteran of the Mexican Revolution, he became an officer in the British Army during the First World War. Freyberg took part in the beach landings during the Gallipoli Campaign and was the youngest general in the British Army during the First World War, later serving on the Western Front where he was decorated with the Victoria Cross and three DSOs, making him one of the most highly decorated British Empire officers of the First World War. He liked to be in the thick of the action - Winston Churchill called him "the Salamander" due to his ability to pass through fire unharmed. During the Second World War, he commanded the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Battle of Crete, the North African Campaign and the Italian Campaign. Freyberg was involved in the Allied defeat in the Battle of Greece, defeated again as the Allied commander in the Battle of Crete and performed successfully in the North African Campaign commanding the New Zealand division, including the Battle of El Alamein. In Italy, he was defeated again at the Second Battle of Cassino as a corps commander, but later relieved Padua and Venice, and was one of the first to enter Trieste, where he successfully confronted Josip Broz Tito's Partisans. By the end of the Second World War, Freyberg had spent ten and a half years fighting the Germans. Rare Good Condition.
