The "Etoile Filante" (Shooting Star) set the land speed record for turbine cars in 1956. Driven by Jean Hebert, who was also one of the car's designers, the futuristic vehicle was over 5 meters long. The incredible, international popularity of the event helped Renault build on their American business.
