Description: Schrikkel, L. (1902-1978). (Portrait of Arthur Lehning[?]). Oil on canvas, 60x50 cm., signed "Louis Schrikkel" in lower right corner, framed. = The portrait was sold by Christie's Amsterdam in July 1999 (sale 2423, lot 611) as being a portrait of the author and critic Pierre H. Dubois, but the widow of Dubois did not identify the portrait as such. The portrayed however also resembles the critic Arthur Lehning, but positive identification could not be established.
