Autographed Lockheed Sr-71 Blackbird Framed Print!

Lot 28: Autographed Lockheed Sr-71 Blackbird Framed Print!

by Chaucer Covers & Auctions

August 1, 2014, 10:00 AM GMT

Folkestone, United Kingdom

Estimated Price: £200 - £300

Description: Autographed Lockheed Sr-71 Blackbird Framed Print! It is a 50cm x 40cm colour photograph of the SR71 Blackbird which was presented to the staff of the Churchill Hotel, to commemorate the 1974 World Record flight from New York to London. The legendary Blackbird did this flight in 1 hour and 55 minutes!! That's pretty fast... The photo has been attached to a large card, which bears the autographs of the two SR-71 crews: The crew who flew to London, pilot Major James Sullivan and navigator Major Noel Widdfield, and the crew who flew it back to Los Angeles: pilot Captain Harold " Buck" Adams and navigator Major Bill Machorek. Also signed by legendary SR71 pilots Jim Shelton, Pat Halloran being a unique item, the photo has been mounted by hand, and unfortunately it has one or two stains, where it has lived on the wall of the hotel, however, this does not detract from its scarcity. Unfathomably rare, this unique piece of memorabilia stands as a wonderful tribute to the famous SR-71 Blackbird.
