1990s BLAZE STARR CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS TRYST W/ PRES JOHN F. KENNEDY

by Regency-Superior Auctioneers

May 13, 2016, 11:00 AM CST

St. Louis, MO, USA

Estimate: $3,000 - $4,000

Description: Signed handwritten letter obtained directly from Starr in which she describes a startling rendezvous with J.F.K. in the oval office that did not last long. She writes (in part): '...J.F.K. jumped up and said he was very, very sorry, but he had to leave. While he was dressing he said "Baby, if Fidel Castro had something like you, he would think more about making love, and less about making war." ... I didn't realize until I saw the evening news on T.V. that the president had left the Cuban Missile Crises {sic} meeting to spend a short time, (very short) with me....' Blaze attributed Kennedy's 'quickness' to prowess: 'He was very quick, and very wild,' she told the 'N.Y. Daily News' in Dec. 1989. As to why their liaisons didn't leak out, she said 'Nobody talked about those things back then, not in public. The newsmen took care of things.' Full-page letter with bold signature of Blaze Starr, her lip prints, trademark rose and multicolor topless self-portrait at top. Amazing document. Also includes nude signed 8"x10" color photo from the time period described. Ex-Celebrity Sleuth Archive.

1996 BLAZE STARR 'CLOSET QUICKIE' W/ CANDIDATE JOHN F. KENNEDY

by Regency-Superior Auctioneers

May 13, 2016, 11:00 AM CST

St. Louis, MO, USA

Estimate: $3,000 - $4,000

Description: Famed stripper and subject of the 1989 movie 'Blaze,' signed handwritten 1996 letter in which she describes tryst with Sen. Kennedy in New Orleans in January 1960 (a year before his inauguration). She writes (in part): 'J.F.K., Jackie, L.B.J. and my fiance Governor Earl K. Long came to the Sho-Bar, where I was performing in New Orleans. After my show I joined the group. Jackie left after a short while. I had known J.F.K. since 1952. At closing time the party plus about a dozen show girls, and more of Earl's friends, went to the Roosevelt Hotel where Earl kept a suite. L.B.J. said lets {sic} make Earl jealous. So, I took J.F.K. by the hand and led him to another room. He led me right into a closet...Earl was so busy talking, he didn't miss us at first...I tied my bra to the door knob...We were having a grand old time when I heard Earl hollering, and yelling, where is Blaze and that young Kennedy feller... So while everyone hunted for the coat, J.F.K. slipped out of the closet.' Starr confirmed the contents in an interview with 'People' magazine (7 years before this letter) to coincide with her film bio starring Paul Newman as Gov. Long: 'I began working at the Sho-Bar in New Orleans in 1959. One night before he was President, Jack Kennedy came to the club and watched the show from the balcony with Jackie. I had met Jack in Washington before he was married. We'd gone out and to his apartment a few times. But neither of us let on that we knew each other when Earl made introductions. That night we all went to the Roosevelt Hotel.' Full-page letter with bold signature of Starr, her lip prints and bare-breasted 3-color drawing of herself at top, obtained directly from its author. Also includes signed 8"x10" B&W nude photo and Blaze Starr appearance card for the New Orleans Sho-Bar where the incident occurred. Starr, who died in 2015, had a well-known long-term affair with Long, who was three-time Democratic governor of Louisiana.

1950s-80s LILI ST. CYR SIGNED NUDE PHOTOS & ALS ABOUT RONALD REAGAN & MORE

by Regency-Superior Auctioneers

May 13, 2016, 11:00 AM CST

St. Louis, MO, USA

Estimate: $1,500 - $2,000

Description: Fascinating group of 17 items, including 8"x10" B&W vintage signed glossy of famous stripper performing on her notorious 'golden swing' at Ciro's nightclub in Hollywood in 1951. An accompanying 1985 three-page handwritten letter on her personal stationery, describing the photo in which she notes 'if you look very closely you will find our president in the audience - just his face showing, towards the back, below the swing.' Ronald Reagan, then president of the Screen Actors Guild, certainly had a good view directly beneath the ecdysiast, and clearly seems to be enjoying himself. Amazingly, Reagan had taken actress date Nancy Davis to Lili's opening night at Ciro's that February! Letter also contains interesting highlights such as St. Cyr's comment that the 'notorious' act caused 'quite a rumpus' and got her arrested for lewdness and indecency. Lot also features two ultra-rare signed 8"x10" B&W images of 34-24-34 lithe Lili dancing nude on stage (strictly forbidden in the 1940s). To 'flesh out' the Reagan connection, there are 3 sexy signed 8"x10" vintage photos (one in color) of Jane Wyman, his famous first wife; 2 signed 8"x10 color photos, one nude, of Patti Davis, his rebellious daughter with Nancy (who used her mother's maiden name), plus 4 candid 4"x6" color original prints of Ms. Davis kissing and cuddling with her girlfriend Angeline Straatman in a gay NYC nightspot, Aug 11, 1994.
