Scottsdale, AZ, USA

Estimated Price: $4,000 - $8,000

Description: This is the John Flood manuscript as it was prepared, ostensibly, to be presented to the Arizona Pioneers Historical Society. Hardcover in leatherette style. Title: Wyatt Earp, A Peace-Officer of Tombstone, Publisher: Yoma V. Bissett, Publication, Date: 1981, 348 pp., full leather, all edges gilt, illustrations, four maps, photographs, with a seven page introduction by Glenn G. Boyer. Includes Arizona Historical Society Letter.. In 1981 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Shoot-Out At The OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, one-hundred full leather, limited slip cased editions of this book were produced by Yoma V. Bisset in Sierra Vista, Arizona for Glenn Boyer. The one-hundred copies sold out immediately with many collectors paying in advance for their copy. This is Glen Boyer's Personal Editorial Copy. It is known as the Flood Manuscript, written by Earp confidant John H. Flood from interviews with his friend Wyatt Earp in 1926 and 1927. Flood, it is obvious, was not a very good writer but what he wrote is certainly a valuable contribution to the genre. This version of the Flood/Earp cooperation was intended as a lecture series.

Mission Control - Console Back-lit Displays (DDD's)

Lot 964: Mission Control - Console Back-lit Displays (DDD's)

by Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles

April 19, 2014, 10:00 AM PST

Los Angeles, CA, USA

Estimated Price: $300 - $350

Description: 1981 Sts-1 Mission Control - Console Back-Lit Displays (Ddd's). These 8 overlays are back-lit displays used on the Flight Dynamics Officer's console. The lights monitored key events on-board the spacecraft and monitored computer processing activity by the Mission Operations Computer (MOC) for other events or possible contingencies. They represent variable event overlays or in the vernacular of Flight Controllers "Digital Display Drivers" (DDD's). These particular DDD's were utilized on early Shuttle flights (2 are noted "FLIGHT 001" for STS-1). They were utilized to support trajectory operations for all phases of flight: Prelaunch/ Ascent phase; Orbital operations phase; and Deorbit/ Entry phase. On the Flight Dynamics Officer's Console they served as a Heads-Up Display feature with color coded lighting for significant telemetered vehicle events impacting the trajectory plus health and status of ground trajectory processors supporting number crunching in MOC. (RTLS=Return to Landing Site, AOA=Abort Once Around, SSME=Space Shuttle Main engine, etc.) Additional notes accompany the cards along with a COA and copy of NASA memo on DDDs. These are the first STS-1 DDDs we have seen offered and few are thought to exist. Estimated Value $300 - 350.
