EXCEPTIONAL NAPOLEONIC PRISONER-OF-WAR MODEL OF A WARSHIP Early 19th Century
Made of bone and horn, with superb helmeted warrior figurehead and carved trail boards. Three gun decks and seventy-six delicately turned wood guns. Exquisite detail to rigging and deck works, with bone blocks and deadeyes. Stern board and captain's quarters with deep relief figural carving. Four bone anchors (two on each side), each with ebonized banding and steel flukes. Walnut parquetry base with ebony and bone inlay. Height 23 3/4". Overall length 32".
Central mast with profession restoration near break at top. Several areas of rigging need reattaching.
