Description: Empress Miniatures, Black Tree Design & Similar Makers - Battle of Isandlwana Diorama - 22nd January 1879, comprising: 1000+ 30mm [metal & mixed media] figures representing the protagonists, including many especially commissioned portrait figures involved in the Battle [Colonel Durnford, Colonel Pulliene, Lieutenants Coghill & Melville etc], The Zulu Regiments are accurately portrayed by their Shield / Headdress designs. The Camp at Isandlwana with Tents, Wagons Etc is faithfully depicted as it appeared at the climax of the battle with the Zulu Impi about to Overrun the last Organised Defensive Positions. The whole is contained in a purpose made Free Standing Display Cabinet [length: 39 x width: 27 x height including legs: 32 inches / 100 x 69 x 81 cm] the Display Cabinet is Glazed and a Description & Key to the diorama is provided along the upper lid edge. This is without doubt one of the best Dioramas of its kind to be offered for sale by Vectis & of Museum Quality. Mint overall. Unique.
