Sm. folio, orig. publishers gilt-lettered green morocco; spine ends, corners & edges heavily rubbed, foot of spine rubbed away, front cover detached. With 12 mounted cliche-verve plates, tissue guards. Dampstaining & darkening to bottom margins of title page & front matter, edges of mounts occasionally foxed & starting to darken.
This publication introduced a new photographic technique called "Cliche-Verre" which produced an image from a glass plate to paper through projected light.
