Description: serial #665257, .22 LR, 6" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this nice first model revolver retain about 97% original blue, the loss is due primarily to some light muzzle wear, high edge wear and a rub mark on the bottom of the bow. The hammer and trigger retain vivid color case-hardening. The checkered walnut pre-magna style walnut grips with Smith & Wesson medallions rate excellent, they are stamp-numbered to the gun. The revolver is equipped with a Call bead front blade sight and rounded corner square notch rear sight blade. There is a light cylinder turn ring and a small 3/4" scratch on the right side of the frame near the "Made in USA" marking; one of the rear sight screws is missing. The gun locks up and times appropriately. This fine revolver comes in an original Smith & Wesson red two-piece box with gold and black print showing the "Outdoorsman's" revolver on the lid, it is numbered to the gun on the bottom in pencil on a small white appliquŽ; the small S&W "Caution" pamphlet explaining cleaning procedures is included. The box rates very good plus to near excellent with a couple very minor scuffs on the edges of the lid. Really a superb example overall of the first model Smith Outdoorsman's revolver.
