Description: A pair of Meissen 'Four Season' centre pieces, the openwork bowls with branch handles, decorated with applied and painted flowers on volute shafts, the bases decorated with putti, baskets of fruit, sheaths of wheat and flowers. Modelled by E.A. Leuteritz (designer and later director of modelling dept. at Meissen) circa 1870. Crossed swords mark in underglaze blue to bases. Centre piece I, inscribed 605, impressed 163, painter's no. 30. Centre piece 2, inscribed 605, no impressed mark found, painter's no 50, also painted number 1 in pink underglaze. Each approx. 44cm high, cracks, chips and overpainting present.
