1858 Tapiau/East Prussia - 1925 Zandvoort
Animal studies (Reinecke Fuchs). 1920. Indian ink drawing on paper. 28 x 22cm. Stamped bottom left: Atelier-Lovis Corinth. Thereover denoted in another hand: zu "Reineke Fuchs".
The reverse with further sketches.
- Restored tear (ca. 7cm) in the left sheet edge.
An expertise by Prof. Dr. Deecke dating from April 2009 is available.
The studies are preparatory sketches for the illustrations (colour lithographs) to Wolfgang von Goethes "Reinecke Fuchs", Berlin 1921, Verlag Fritz Gurlitt. Comp. C.R.
