Romanticism
Born partly as a response to the growing industrialization of Europe, the social and political revolution in Napoleon’s France, and a reaction against the Neoclassical Style, Romanticism grew into prominence in the late 18th Century. The closest parallel to Romanticism in America are the Hudson River and Luminous Schools.
