Salon des Réalités Nouvelles
French exhibition venue founded in Paris in 1946. It was named after the exhibition of abstract art organized by Fredo Sidès and held at the Galerie Charpentier, Paris, in 1939. In the Salon’s first show, work by 73 artists was exhibited. Each Salon was accompanied by a publication. Throughout the post-war period the Salon was the leading centre in Paris for geometric abstraction, attracting such artists as Auguste Herbin, Antoine Pevsner, Alfred Pellan, Jean Gorin ...
