PRESS RELEASE
Rowley’s auctioneers are proud to announce their forthcoming auction of perhaps the largest single owner collection of cigar cutters in Europe. The 750 or so cutters and related items will be offered for sale at auction on the 18th of November as part of Rowley’s Fine Art Auction at Tattersalls Newmarket. The collection was assembled by an East Anglian private collector over the last 40 years from local antique shops and fairs as well as London retailers such as Dunhill and Asprey. It has also been profiled in publications such as the Antiques and Collectors Club magazine and Country Life. Auctioneer Silas Currie said “This is a major and important collection and covers the full breadth of cutters produced from the mid 19th century up until the present day. For volume and variety it is probably unrivalled throughout the world and this is a rare opportunity for fellow collectors to find something to add to their collection, however deep their pockets.”
