Peter Francis is an independent partnership of qualified individuals with over 50 years experience between them in the business of Antiques and Auctioneering. The firm is directly derived from a family partnership started in the 19th century.
Operating throughout the whole of South and West Wales, our Salerooms are in Carmarthen, the ancient capital of Wales, with good road and rail access from the surrounding regions, the motorway system (M4/A48) and the Irish ferry ports.
The main Peter Francis office is at The Curiosity Salerooms, 19 King Street, Carmarthen, and we also have an office at 73 Pontcanna Street in Cardiff in co-operation with Manor House Fine Arts.

‘DOD’ (DOROTHY) PROCTER (b 1891, studied Newlyn Penzance & Paris). Portrait of a lady with blue bird in sky, part of a series of Saints, believed to represent St Joan and to be based on a portrait of Caitlin Thomas, Wife of Welsh Writer and Poet Dylan Thomas. Research suggests this painting was made during the couples honeymoon in Cornwall during 1937 when records show that the Artist met the couple. Canvas - 30” x 20”. Estimate 4000/6000
