Rare Global Research Class III/NFA AOW Model RS1 Fighting Knife/Pistol

Lot 869: Rare Global Research Class III/NFA AOW Model RS1 Fighting Knife/Pistol

by Rock Island Auction Company

December 5, 2014, 9:00 AM CST

Rock Island, IL, USA

Estimated Price: $2,500 - $4,000

Description: Rare Global Research Class III/NFA AOW Model RS1 Fighting Knife/Pistol This is just what everyone needs, a large heavy style fighting knife that is equipped with a "five-shot" revolver inside the handle. This is a very unique and probably very low production item that is estimated at less than 1,000 total made but probably far, far less than that number as most people have never even heard of one. The company was started in the late 1990's and went out of business in 2006/7, so they are probably very rare white few actually made and or sold. It's the classic fighting knife/pistol only using new modern material and manufacturing techniques. It is made from stainless steel and has a 6 1/2 inch blade with a Bowie clip and a 5 inch handle. Inside the handle is the entire barrel, cylinder and firing mechanism. A small button the rear of the handle lets you open the handle to load the cylinder. The barrel is mounted above the top of the blade. It is fitted with a folding trigger mechanism that locks in place inside or under the handle with a small locking button that rotates to drop the trigger out, and the cylinder rotates with every pull/push of the trigger mechanism. The handle is marked: "Model RS1/PATENT PENDING" with the opposite side marked: "G.R.A.D./LAS VEGAS NV. (serial number) GR3241AD CAL. 22LR". The blade is not sharpened as it's intended as a fighting knife, and it comes with its original shipping box. Manufacturer: Global Research & Development Model: RSI BBL: 3 1/2 inches round Stock: Gauge: 22 LR Finish: Grips: black plastic Serial Number: GR3241AD Class: Class III Condition: Excellent, as new and looks unfired/unused. The blade is still unsharpened. NOTE: This item is listed as an "Any Other Weapon" (AOW), and is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA) weapon which is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATF&E;). These items AOWs are defined under 18 U.S.C. Sec. 921(a)(24) that require ownership and transfer under the National Firearms Act under, 26 U.S.C. chapter 53. Per NFA laws and regulations, interstate transfer of this item must be through a FFL/SOT holder in the buyer's home state. This item requires a $5.00 tax stamp.
