The second is a 2nd Intermediate grey-blue steatite type, c. 1750 - 1570 BC, with corded device on base. 12 x 8mm. Minor chipping. The last is a 3rd Intermediate faience type, c. 984 - 664 BC, with a neter sign before a reclining sphinx. 13 x 9mm. Surface wear, glaze now white. Ex C.V. private collection.

Lot includes a 2nd Intermediate type, c. 1674 - 1570 BC, with Re standing with a triangular object, ?en-re? inscription before, (19 x 14mm); the second is a New Kingdom rectangular plaque, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with stylized Amen-re inscription on either side, (9 x 6mm); and the last a Levantine type, 2nd Millennium BC, with deeply incised figure holding quadrupeds with either hand, (17 x 12mm). Description: A necklace strung with Egyptian scarabs and scaraboids. The scarabs mostly date from the New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with a couple bearing a cartouche of Thutmose III, and all but one are steatite. The blue faience scaraboid has the back in the form of a nicely detailed Eye of Horus, the goddess Maat seated on the base. The scarabs are strung with antique red glass and circular seed beads and the necklace is strung on modern cord and clasp. Largest scarab measures 1.9 x 1.3 cm, necklace L: 23 2/3 in (60.2cm). Ex Connecticut private collection.

H: 4 5/8 in (12 cm). Quite attractive with crisp text. Mounted on tiered black lucite base. Ex property from the collection of Joseph Klein (1899-1987), New York City. Mr. Klein sought out and acquired these souvenirs as part of his vast collecting interests.
