Condition Report: Each: Generally good condition. The upper edges tipped to the back folio mats. All retaining the original folios, some with the artist's signature and date. Some with minor scattered nibbles to the edges. Portrait of a mother and baby: a few scattered losses and scratches throughout. The photograph mounted to backing paper but lacking folio. The folio cover of the oval photograph of the woman in profile is in two pieces, torn at the hinge.

It especially delights with its carved and turnery walnut veneer casing. The clock has an enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals, openwork hands, a chased brass midfield and a brass fronton with floral applications. The large decorative brass pendant also shows a pretty floral décor.The clock is overall in good condition, showing slight wear. The wood displays some drying cracks on the face side. On the left side, the cover cloth is worn. The top pieces feature traces of an inactive woodworm infestation. During a short-term test, the clock was functional, but long-term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. The clock comes without winding key. In addition to his romantic paintings the Roman artist also created several sculptures of beautiful women. The girl's charming face and the curly hair are finely rendered. The lower part of the base is roughly chiseled. This creates a wonderful contrast between the smooth surface of the skin and the uneven surface of the base.The bust is in good condition. It is signed on the back 'F. Troso' inside a cartouche. The overall height is 55.5 cm.Fernando Troso (1910-1990)Fernando Troso learned the art of sculpture in the workshop of his father. At the age of seventeen he moved to Rome, where he worked as a stonemason. In 1928 he created his first bust, depicting Pope Pius XI. He showed his early paintings in an exhibition in Rome in 1934. Further exhibitions, mainly in Rome, followed. In 1956 Troso participated in the Venice Biennale. In his paintings, the artist often depicted pastoral world, defined by a nostalgia for the past.
