TWILIGHT FIRE BY JIM HANSEL

Lot 49S: TWILIGHT FIRE BY JIM HANSEL

by Artistic Holdings Company

July 26, 2014, 5:00 AM PST

Las Vegas, NV, USA

Estimated Price: $650 - $820

Description: Twilight Fire By Jim Hansel - Edition Size: 50 - Giclee On Canvas - Artist Proof Dimensions: 12 X 24 Release Date: 11-2009 ???.jim Hansel Is A Very Talented Artist Who Has Achieved Success By Overcoming Special Challenges To Create His Beautiful Paintings. At A Young Age, Hansel Demonstrated His Artistic Ability; Throughout His Life, He Never Swayed From His Dream Of Becoming An Artist. As Long As The Artist Can Recall, His Love Of Wildlife And The Outdoors Have Inspired His Work So He May Share His Vision Of Nature?s Wonders. The World Hansel Paints Is Not Always The World He Sees. At The Age Of Twelve, He Was Diagnosed With A Degenerative Eye Condition, Which Has Left Him Legally Blind. Mastering His Visual Limitations, He Has Learned To Create Beautifully-detailed Images With Magnification And Low-vision Aids. Working Only One Or Two Inches Away From The Canvas, Hansel Painstakingly Paints In The Details Of A Work, While Forming In His Mind A Clear Picture Of The Finished Painting. Hansel Also Relies On His Camera To Capture His Ideas And Bring Them Into Focus. He Uses Photographs To Bring The Landscapes And The Wildlife Models Back To His Studio. At This Stage Of Starting A Painting, He Enlarges The Photographs, If Necessary, To See Them More Clearly. Amazingly, The Artist Then Gazes Through His Glasses And Commences His First Brush Strokes As His Painting Comes To Life A Few Square Inches At A Time. Hansel?s Visual Challenges Require Him To Spend More Time On A Painting Adding His Details Than Many Artists?.sometimes Working Four Months On A Single Canvas. Hansel Wants His Artwork To Be Judged On Its Own Merit, Not On The Basis Of An Artist With A Visual Impairment. This Determination And Being Blessed With A Talent To Create His Outstanding Images Have Brought Him National Recognition. Since His First Print Release In 1987, He Has Produced Nearly 100 Limited Editions, And Many Have Sold Out. The Artist?s Attention To Detail And Distinctive, Colorful Landscapes Are Very Popular With Art Collectors Nationwide. Hansel Credits His Wife, Lois, His Most Ardent Supporter, With Much Of The Success Of His Art. Since Their Marriage, Lois Has Been Involved In The Production Of The Artist?s Prints To Ensure The Highest Possible Quality. Their Family Also Includes Two Children, Joe And Laura. Hansel Has Received National Recognition And Numerous Awards For His Wonderful Art. He Has Been Commissioned To Create Several Paintings For Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, And The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. His Limited Edition Prints Are Successful Fundraisers For Various Conservation Organizations. Hansel Also Has Been Honored With Many Other Awards Throughout His Career. Jim Hansel?s Art And His Success Are Living Testimony To The Rewards Of Hard Work And Perseverance Regardless Of Life?s Challenges.

People Began Requesting Prints Through My Website And After Doing Research Into Fine Art Printing, I Began Creating And Selling High Resolution Archival Prints Of My Work In 2002. That Same Year I Had My First Solo Show, And I Believe It Was The First Show Of Non-photographic Digital Work In North Carolina.

Lot 509W: R. TOM GILLEON - INDIAN SUNSET II

by Artistic Holdings Company

July 26, 2014, 5:00 AM PST

Las Vegas, NV, USA

Estimated Price: $5,250 - $6,562

Description: R. Tom Gilleon - Indian Sunset Ii - Hand Signed - Extra Large Canvas Edition - Image Size: 74"w X 37"h. Limited Edition Of: 25?.?'indian Sunset' Is Also A Double Entendre Representative Of Not Only The Painting?s Strong Visual, But Of The Decline In The Indian Way Of Life,? Tom Gilleon Explains. ?i Have Such Respect For Them As A People. My Goal Is That My Work Conveys The Beauty Of Their World And Their Deep-rooted Connection To It. ?the Painting Is Partially Inspired By The Elton John Song 'indian Sunset' As Well. It Is A Compassionate Song And The Story He Tells Of The Fall Of A Young Warrior Comes Across Even Though The Facts In The Song Aren?t Necessarily Correct. What Is Important Is The Emotion The Music Creates And That?s How He Approaches His Work. ?i Do Things A Little Like Elton And Try To Not Let The Facts Get In The Way Of A Good Story. I?m A Little More Visual Than Historical. Many Of The Designs I Put On The Outside Of A Tipi Would More Often Have Been Adorning The Inside. I Exaggerate Certain Things Like The Scale Of The Sun. It Would Never Appear This Large, But It Is A Central Element To The Story. Native American Art Does The Same. If It Is Important, Emphasize It. ?color Is Another Powerful Component. I Am Looking For Vibrancy And Impact And Try Not To Second Guess A Brushstroke. I?m Painting With More Confidence. I Feel Like I?m Getting Closer To How I Painted At Age Four.? "indian Sunset Ii" Is A Prime Example Of The Iconic Work That Has Driven So Many Of Tom Gilleon?s Fine Art Editions To Sold Out Status. His Seamless Blend Of Contemporary Graphic Art And Classic Representational Storytelling Has Collectors Snatching Them Up As Quickly As We Release Them. Both Editions Are Low In Number And Are Designed To Be Displayed As Contemporary Gallery Wrapped Items. Order Your "indian Sunset Ii" Before The Opportunity To Own This Outstanding Work Of Art Disappears Over The Horizon.

Lot 546S: COMFORTS OF HOME BY JIM HANSEL

by Artistic Holdings Company

July 26, 2014, 5:00 AM PST

Las Vegas, NV, USA

Estimated Price: $990 - $1,240

Description: Comforts Of Home By Jim Hansel - Edition Size: 248 - Giclee On Canvas - Signed & Numbered Dimensions: 24 X 36 Release Date: 11-2009 ???.jim Hansel Is A Very Talented Artist Who Has Achieved Success By Overcoming Special Challenges To Create His Beautiful Paintings.
