The carton is extensively repaired, the booklet has some ex-library stamps and a cancelled stamp, and the plates have a small library number in the top left-hand corner, well away from any image.The first plate shows nine numbered examples of type, each example spelling its own name. The second plate shows 22 comparative forms of the letter A. The remaining 26 plates each show a 30cm (12") high single capital letter in a Roman type, A - Z, iwith a smaller version of the letter in each of the nine types on plate 1 below, and with a commentary on the letter. Front blank flyleaf removed but still a very good copy. First published 1828.
