The appellation spans approximately 165 hectares of village vineyards, in which exclusively Pinot noir is cultivated. On top of that are 150 hectares of Premiere Cru vineyards. The best growths of the area unite robust strength with complexity, aroma and finesse.1986 was a good vintage in Burgundy, resulting in well-balanced and fruity wines which have developed well. They are great to drink now and these wines too have reached the peak of their maturity.The 1986 vintage Faiveley Les Saint-Georges was rated 92 points by Robert Parker in 1990.The fill level is excellent (< 3 cm). This letter, written to David Gelston, Collector of the Port of New York. concerns a business transaction with John Jacob Astor, the United States' first multi-millionaire.
