American Revolution

The American Revolution was one of the most important battles of the modern world, during which the American colonies declared independence from British rule. The American Revolution was fought with mostly colonial militias, thus there exists a wide variety of uniforms, as well as unique weaponry and other historical artifacts.

In addition to American and British collectibles, antiques from French troops who aided the American cause and German Hessians fighting for the British are also in great demand.

Quick Facts

  • The Revolutionary war stacked two of the greatest muskets of all time against each other: the British Brown Bess, and the American Kentucky rifle
  • The Kentucky rifle’s moniker is actually a misnomer, as the guns came from Pennsylvania and were built mainly by former German gunsmiths
  • The bright colors of Revolutionary military uniforms allowed commanders to distinguish their troops from the enemy
