Artist Jack Absalom was born in 1927 in South Australia where he learned bush skills from the Aborigines. The landscapes of the country inspired him to start painting in the 1970s. Since then, Jack Absalom's paintings have earned him the Medal of the Order of Australia and the Advance Australia award. He is also one of the five members of the Brushmen of the Bush, a group of Australian artists who dedicated themselves to painting Australian landscapes. Using earth tones and detailed imagery, artist Jack Absalom brought the Australian Outback to life on canvas. Jack Absalom's artwork encompasses oil paintings, prints, and magnificent opal displays.
