Douglas Adams Sold at Auction Prices

Painter

Born in 1853, British artist Douglas Adams is known as a visual artist. His paintings were generally of landscapes and outdoor sports like hunting, golf, and fishing, and three paintings of the Conwy Golf Course in Caernarvonshire, Wales have found themselves proudly hung in golf club houses around the world. The settings of these three artist Douglas Adams paintings, The Drive, Difficult Bunker, and The Putting Green, were a mystery for a long time, and were often thought of as fictional places.

Between 1880 and 1894, the painter Douglas Adams exhibited his work at the Royal Academy, later showing his work at the Society of British Artists, and the Grosvenor Gallery in London. Adams' landscapes and sporting paintings still sell at auction.
