Su iniciación en la pintura se debió en buena parte a su cercanía con Julio Castellanos y Manuel Rodríguez Lozano. En 1931 inició sus actividades como maestro de dibujo y pintura en la Universidad de México y en el Instituto de Bellas Artes. En 1937 fue uno de los fundadores del Taller de Gráfica Popular. 64.5 x 48 cm.
