Sechs Radierungen -- 6 Kaltnadelarbeiten bzw. Radierungen, teils mit Aquatinta, auf festem Velin. 1965. -- Bis 48,2 x 30,3 cm (Blattgröße). -- Jeweils signiert "Jiří Balcar" und datiert. Auflage 10 num. Ex. -- -- In den frühen 1950er Jahren begann der Graphiker und Illustrator Balcar, typographische Elemente in seine Arbeiten einzubauen, die später zu seinem Markenzeichen wurden. Die Wende in seiner Arbeit kam nach Besuchen auf ausländischen Ausstellungen, insbesondere der Weltausstellung 1958 in Brüssel. Dank dieser Ausstellungen wandte er sich den europäischen Tendenzen zu und wurde zu einem der Pioniere der neuen Welle in der tschechischen abstrakten Kunst Ende der 1950er Jahre. He finished his studies in 1953 and at the end of his short life, he often travelled abroad, especially to the United States of America. He died in a car accident in Prague in 1968.
