Provenance: The artist; Quester Gallery, Connecticut (label verso); Property of a Duxbury, Massachusetts collector. Other Notes: According to the artist, " I moved to New England in 1971 because I wanted to paint subject matter just like this painting of Ellida. In this painting, the subject is pulled up to have its bottom painted on the west side of Lobster Cove in Annisquam, MA. I was standing on the wooden bridge that spans the cove looking west out to the river. I remember that the odd upturn at the bow of Ellida bothered me. If I drew it the way it appears, I assumed that folks would think my drawing inaccurate, but since this was a portrait of a particular vessel I had to draw it the way it was built. My records show this painting was delivered to my gallery on Nov 13, 1991."
