Barse trained extensively in Paris (1879-1885) at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Arts and exhibited at the Paris Salon in the early 1880's. Back in the US, Barse became a member of the national Academy and the Society of American Artists and exhibited widely in the East and Midwest, including a one-man exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1907. 25" x 30"

Condition B-: Each image trimmed at top and bottom; losses in some corners; minor tears in image. Printed on card. Three of four American Art Nouveau panels depicting the times of the day, Noon, Evening and Night. In soft pastel colors reminiscent of the panels of Alphonse Mucha, within giltborders that are virtually identical to the ones Mucha created for his series Times of the Day in 1899.
