    (1788 Dessau - 1875 ebenda) Aktstudie eines Jünglings mit Stab Um 1814 entstandene, klassizistische Zeichnung Becks mit subtiler plastischer Körpermodellierung in der Tradition von Anton Raphael Mengs (1728 - 1779). Beck studierte seit 1806 an der Akademie in Dresden, wo er auch er die Werke Mengs' und dessen Skulpturensammlung kennengelernt haben dürfte. Erst 1817/18 kehrte Beck nach Dessau zurück, wurde Hofmaler und später Mitglied der Berliner Akademie der Künste. Verso eine unvollendete Aktstudie. Bleistift, schwarze u. weiße Kreide/Bütten. Blatt ca. 52 cm x 33 cm. Pencil, black and white chalk on paper. Another study of a male nude on the reverse.

Beck studierte seit 1806 bei Ferdinand Hartmann an der Akademie in Dresden, wo er auch Mengs' Werke und Skulpturensammlung als Inspirationsquelle kennengelernt haben dürfte. 1817/18 kehrte Beck nach Dessau zurück und wurde dort Hofmaler. Schwarze u. weiße Kreide/Bütten. Lager- und Altersspuren. Blatt ca. 57 cm x 43,5 cm. Black and white chalk on paper. Bright stains, smoothed folds.

Beck studierte seit 1806 mit Unterstützung des Dessauer Herzogshofes bei Ferdinand Hartmann an der Akademie in Dresden, wo er die Meisterwerke in der Gemäldegalerie kopierte. Erst 1817/18 kehrte Beck nach Dessau zurück, wurde Hofmaler und später Mitglied der Akademie der Künste in Berlin. Schwarze u. weiße Kreide/Bütten. Blatt ca. 55 cm x 37 cm.
