SUSANNA UND DIE BEIDEN ALTEN Öl auf Leinwand. 171 x 197 cm. In vergoldetem Rahmen. Beigegeben eine Expertise von Emilio Negro, Bologna, in Kopie. Das Thema des Alten Testaments zeigt vor Landschaftshintergrund die drei großfigurigen Dargestellten, nahe an den Betrachter herangebracht. Fast im Zentrum Susanna mit entblößtem Oberkörper, soeben dem Bad entstiegen, die sich mit der linken Hand durch ein Tuch zu bedecken sucht, während der linksstehende bärtige Alte versucht, ihr das Tuch wegzuziehen. Susanna blickt ängstlich zurück, während sie gleichzeitig mit ihrer erhobenen rechten Hand dabei ist, die Zudringlichkeit des hinter ihr stehenden Mannes abzuwehren. Beide versuchen sie zu verführen; der linke bietet ihr sogar eine Goldkette in seiner ausgestreckten Hand an, die sie zurückweist. Malweise in kräftiger Farbgebung der Kleidung mit besonderer Hell-Dunkel-Wirkung. Im Gegensatz zur Darstellung der beiden Alten ist hier Susanna in zartem, fein changiertem Inkarnat wiedergegeben. Elegante und streng klassizistische Komposition, die eine harmonische Bildkadenz aufweist. “Questa bella tela inedita, caratterizzata dall'accorta regia luministica creata dall'argenteo fiotto di luce lunare, che scivolando sulle figure crea l'atmosfera sospesa dell'incontro tra Diana e il giovane pastore Endimione colto nel sonno, è opera di Antonio Bellucci, personalità di grande rilievo nel passaggio dell'arte figurativa veneziana dall'epoca barocca agli splendori della pittura lagunare del Settecento. (…) Nel dipinto qui esaminato un nitido disegno impernia ia composizione sul fermo plasticismo delle figure colte nella sospensione del fatidico incontro tra la dea e il bellissimo pastore Endimione profondamente addormentato. Avvolto dalle tenebre, il paesaggio si manifesta solo per qualche cenno di fogliame alle spalle di Endimione mentre la luminosità argentea di Diana plasma il valore atmosferico di un notturno incantato. Una sottile interpretazione della dea pone lo spicchio lunare nella sua aurea, astraendolo dalla materialità iconografica. L'essenzialità della composizione e la predilezione per il disegno sorvegliato attenuano I'intensità del gesto pittorico essenzializzando la partitura cromatica e levigando gli impasti, elementi che inducono a collocare il nostro dipinto nella fase avanzata del maestro. Significativo è il confronto con la tela del medesimo soggetto pubblicata da Magani (Antonio Bellucci, Rimini 1995, n. 8g) che rivela Ia maestria dell'artista nell'offrire la sontuosità tattile delle stoffe e I'ostentazione palpabile degli incarnati riscontrabili nelle opere verso Ia fine del secondo decennio. Tali caratteristiche sono presenti, con maggior freschezza, anche nel bozzetto preparatorio databile alla stessa epoca. La conduzione pittorica del dipinto qui esaminato si riallaccia piuttosto ad opere come Danae sulla zattera del Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen di Monaco, uno degli ultimi dipinti realizzati per la residenza di Bensberg Johann Wilhelm del principe von Pfalz e quindi databile intorno al 1715-1716. L'essenzialità dello schema del nostro dipinto, imperniato sulle figure proiettate in primo piano e delineate con virtuosismo classicheggiante, consente tuttavia di datarlo tra il secondo e il terzo decennio, quando l'esperienza del periodo inglese incide sul cromatismo che assume toni discreti, mentre un segno sottile muta la stessa dedizione del pittore rimodulando quel modello femminile già fissato negli ultimi anni del Seicento nella Danae di Budapest e ripreso in quello di Monaco nonché in molte altre opere.” olio su tela

DIE HEILIGE FAMILIE Öl auf Leinwand. Doubliert. 107 x 137 cm. In prächtigem ornamentiertem Rahmen. Vor einer nicht näher definierten Architektur nimmt die Heilige Familie den Großteil des Bildgrundes ein. Maria trägt fürsorglich ihren Sohn auf dem Schoss, der sich in einer kleinen Drehung Josef zuwendet. Dieser sitzt neben der Hauptgruppe. Ihm gegenüber ist die Heilige Elisabeth gezeigt, die Johannes den Täufer stützt. Die reichen Farbabstufungen und feine weiche Pinselführung sowie die deutlich konturierten Figuren mit den gekonnten Hell-Dunkel-Effekten zeigen die Meisterschaft des Künstlers. (1462052) (10)

HEILIGER ANTONIUS Öl auf Leinwand. 93 x 73 cm. In einem geschwungenen, teilvergoldeten Barockrahmen. Das Gemälde, dass aufgrund seiner Größe, des Rahmens und der Darstellung wohl für den Altar einer Privatkapelle bestimmt war, zeigt vor braunen Hintergrund einen stehenden jungen Ordensheiligen in schwarzer Kutte, der den auf einer türkisfarbenen Platte auf einem weißen Tuch sitzenden, nackten Jesusknaben hält. Jesus mit blond-gelocktem Haar schmiegt sich mit seinem Kopf an die Wange des Heiligen und berührt ihn mit seinem ausgestreckten rechten Arm liebevoll. Im Hintergrund links ragt ein Wanderstab nach oben. Einfühlsame, qualitätvolle Malerei mit eindrucksvoller Lichtführung die den Körper Jesu und das Gesicht des Heiligen vor leicht aufgehellten Hintergrund hervorhebt. Das Gemälde erinnert an ein weiteres Werk des Künstlers mit vergleichbarer Darstellung und Rahmung, dass den Heiligen Antonius von Padua mit dem Jesuskind zeigt. Retuschen. (14204533) (18)

Antonio Bellucci (Venezia o Soligo 1654 - Soligo 1726) Danae Olio su tela 45 x 36 cm La tela in esame trova riferimenti attributivi nelle due opere col medesimo soggetto conservate all'Alte Pinakothek di Monaco di baviera e al Szépmuvészeti Muzeum di Budapest. Rispettivamente pubblicate alle pagine 174-176 e 100-102 del libro Antonio Bellucci a cura del professore Fabrizio Magani. Iniziò intorno al 1674 la sua attività operando a Padova, Ponzano e Vicenza. Nel 1691 entrò in contatto con la corte palatina di Giovanni Guglielmo II di Wittelsbach-Neuburg con la quale restò legato per oltre vent'anni, alternando le commissioni con quelle per la corte di Vienna, l'Elettore di Magonza e del principe del Liechtenstein, per il quale realizzò un complesso decorativo di quaranta tele, nei primissimi anni del XVIII secolo. Dopo il 1716 si recò in Inghilterra dove realizzò, tra l'altro, un soffitto a Buckingham Palace. Assieme a Sebastiano Ricci fu il precursore dell'ultima grande stagione della pittura veneziana. Fu in grado di intrecciare fonti d'ispirazione apparentemente inconciliabili, come l'estro neocinquecentesco del Ricci, con l'arte barocca di Antonio Zanchi e quella più mulìebre di Pietro Liberi. DIANA UND ENDYMION Öl auf Leinwand. Doubliert. 122 x 152 cm. In profiliertem Rahmen mit Akanthuseckzier. Beigegeben ein Gutachten von Dario Succi, Gorizia, ohne Datum, in Kopie. Das Gemälde zeigt eine der beliebtesten Szenen der italienischen Malerei des 17. Jahrhunderts, nämlich die Sage vom schönen Hirten Endymion, dem Jupiter ewigen Schlaf und Jugend gewährte und in den sich Diana unglücklich verliebte, da sie ihn nur nachts, in der Dunkelheit, küssen und umarmen konnte. Gut vergleichbar ist etwa auch ein Gemälde mit Adam und Eva aus der Hand des Bellucci, welches bei der Fondazione Zeri unter Nummer 58231 geführt wird. Succi führt noch weitere Vergleichsbeispiele an von denen sich zwei in einer Privatsammlung befinden, eines in den Bayerischen Staatsgemäldesammlungen und eines im Szépmûvészeti Múzeum in Budapest. Antonio Bellucci, der von Succi genannt wird, war ein italienischer Barockmaler, studierte in Venedig unter Andrea Celesti (1637-1712), Pietro Liberi (1614-1687) und Antonio Zanchi (1631-1722). “La tela in esame è stata inserita da Fabrizio Magani nel fondamentale catalogo da lui dedicato al pittore veneziano. Lo studioso ha rimarcato la vena decorativa che anima il dipinto, si veda, quale esempio, le storie del Ratto d'Europa e della Danae elegantemente raffigurate a sbalzo nel bacile dal quale un'ancella è intenta a lavare Betsabea. Sempre a parere di Magani l'opera sarebbe stata realizzata dal Bellucci attorno al 1695, durante il periodo trascorso in Austria. Per la resa della prospettiva architettonica, consapevoli della preziosa elaborazione cromatica peculiare al maestro veneziano e qui indubbiamente di più modesta esecuzione, è plausibile supporre, come espresso dal Magani, che il Bellucci si sia servito di un proprio collaboratore. Indubbia, però, è la qualità del gruppo di donne che animano l'opera. Intenta nelle abluzioni alle quali le ancelle la sottopongono, Betsabea nella sua nudità riverbera di luce i volti delle due domestiche a lei più vicine. Notevole è poi il pregevole senso descrittivo riservato all'episodio biblico, dal ricordato bacile al ricco broccato sul quale si è accomodata Betsabea, dal pannello marmoreo scolpito alle sue spalle agli eleganti indumenti che indossano le servitrici, senza dimenticare il bel pavone, simbolo della superbia, che fa di sé bella mostra sulla balaustra che orna il palazzo.”

Attached is a report by Dario Succi, Gorizia, undated, in copy, with mention of comparative examples, such as the “La nativita` di Maria” and “Transito de Maria” in the church of Santo Stefano Protomartire in Vedano al Lambro (Milan). The report also shows that the work was created in the last decade of the 17th century, before the artist went to Vienna in 1692 to work in the Neuburg monastery. The theme, which is not found in the Gospels, is handed down from the Legenda Aurea. Mary is shown here as a small child on a maid's lap. The unclothed upper body is slightly upright, the head is illuminated by a light. Four other maids are grouped around the central figure, the girl in the foreground kneels in front of a child's cradle. The scene in an interior with an arched view to the outside, in front of which Mary's father, the aged Joachim, stands in thanksgiving with his gaze directed upwards. The mother Anna in childbirth, lying on the left on a bed raised over steps, talking to a female. The overall scenery is covered by a bank of clouds with a floating censer, winged angel and smaller angel putti. The depiction in the upper part has a round arch with corner edges on the sides, which indicates that it is a preparatory work for a larger altarpiece. Antonio Bellucci, was an Italian Baroque painter, studied in Venice under Andrea Celesti (1637-1712), Pietro Liberi (1614-1687) and Antonio Zanchi (1631-1722). Like other representatives of Venetian painting (Sebastiano Ricci (1659-1734), Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696-1770)), he accepted painting commissions in northern Italy, where he created magnificent frescoes for the palaces of local patrons. Beigegeben ein Gutachten von Dario Succi, Gorizia, ohne Datum, in Kopie, mit Nennung von Vergleichsbeispielen, wie etwa die „La nativita` di Maria“ und „Transito de Maria“ in der Kirche Santo Stefano Protomartire in Vedano al Lambro (Mailand). Altarbilder, die bereits in der größeren Ausführung geschaffen wurden. Ferner geht aus dem Gutachten hervor, dass das Werk im letzten Jahrzehnt des 17. Jahrhunderts entstand, bevor der Künstler sich 1692 nach Wien begeben hat, um im Kloster Neuburg zu arbeiten. Das Thema, das sich in den Evangelien nicht findet, ist aus der Legenda Aurea überliefert. Maria ist als Kleinkind hier auf dem Schoß einer Magd wiedergegeben. Der unbekleidete Oberkörper leicht aufrecht, der Kopf von einem Lichtschein hinterfangen. Vier weitere Mägde haben sich um die zentrale Figur gruppiert, das Mädchen im Vordergrund kniet vor einer Kinderwiege. Die Szene in einem Innenraum mit rundbogigem Durchblick nach draußen, vor dem der Vater der Maria, der gealterte Joachim, im Dankgebet mit nach oben gerichtetem Blick steht. Die Mutter Anna im Kindbett links auf einem über Stufen erhöhten Bett liegend im Gespräch mit einer weiblichen Person. Die Gesamtszenerie überfangen von einer Wolkenbank mit heranschwebendem Weihrauchfass, geflügeltem Engel und kleineren Engelsputten. Die Darstellung im oberen Teil rundbogig abgegrenzt mit Eckkanten an den Seiten, was darauf hinweist, dass es sich um ein vorbereitendes Werk für ein größeres Altarbild handelt. Antonio Bellucci, war ein italienischer Barockmaler, studierte in Venedig unter Andrea Celesti (1637-1712), Pietro Liberi (1614-1687) und Antonio Zanchi (1631-1722). Wie andere Vertreter der venezianischen Malerei (Sebastiano Ricci (1659-1734), Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696-1770)) nahm er Malaufträge in Norditalien an, wo er prächtige Fresken für die Paläste der lokalen Gönner schuf. Kannelierte Säulen sind Teile eines geräumigen Architekturensembles, das Bellucci als Bühne diente für die Darstellung einer mehrpersonigen biblischen Geschichte. Josef war nach Ägypten verkauft worden und gelangte an den Hof des Potifar, dessen Soldaten den noch jungen Josef im Begriff sind abzuführen. Was war geschehen? Die Frau des Potifar und ihre Mägde waren von Josefs Schönheit ergriffen und so suchte Potifars Gemahlin Josef zum Ehebruch zu bringen, was er ausschlug, sodass sie ihn der unsittlichen Annäherung beschuldigt hatte. Die Geschichte ist im Buch Genesis (Gen 39,1-20), aber auch im Islam und im Judentum überliefert. Antonio Bellucci, der von Succi genannt wird, war ein italienischer Barockmaler, studierte in Venedig unter Andrea Celesti (1637-1712), Pietro Liberi (1614-1687) und Antonio Zanchi (1631-1722). Venetian painter of the XVIIth century (attribuited to Antonio Bellucci, Pieve di Soligo, 1654 – Pieve di Soligo, 1726) Antonio Bellucci was an Italian painter and decorator, he participated in the rococo movement with a hint of classicism. The experiences of the young Bellucci were Venetian training and Bolognese paintings. He was also a very interesting painter for his contribution to the diffusion of Venetian painting in Australia and England. His first works in Austria are 4 paintings for the altars in the Monastery of Klosterneuburg, commissioned by the Emperor himself. From 1716 to 1722 the painter stayed in London where he created several pieces.

Attivo a Venezia, Vienna, Düsseldorf e Londra, Bellucci incarna la moderna dimensione dell'artista itinerante, di fama internazionale, apprezzato per il suo disegno corretto, la morbidezza delle tinte e una vocazione classicista appresa durante i soggiorni di studio a Roma e a Bologna. La tela in esame esprime assai bene lo stile descritto e si contraddistingue da una elegante e luminosa sensibilità rocaille. Lo stile e le stesure, infatti, non rivelano più le suggestioni dei suoi primi maestri Pietro Liberi, Antonio Zanchi e Andrea Celesti, adeguandosi a esiti prossimi a quelli di Jacopo Amigoni (Napoli o Venezia, 1682 - Madrid, 1752) rivelando una data di esecuzione intorno al 1700, in analogia con i Putti che ornano gli altari nella chiesa della Nascita di Maria a Klosterneuburg (Magani p. 97) del 1696 e non a caso, l'opera fu esitata nel 2003 da Finarte con questa attribuzione. DER HEILIGE SEBASTIAN Öl auf Leinwand. Doubliert. Im Hochoval. 116 x 99 cm. Ungerahmt. Der Legende nach war Sebastian Hauptmann der Prätorianergarde am Kaiserlichen Hof unter Diokletian. Als der Kaiser von Sebastians christlichem Glauben erfuhr, ließ er ihn an einen Baum binden und von Bogenschützen erschießen. Er war jedoch nicht tot, sondern wurde von einer Witwe namens Irene gepflegt. In Nahsicht ist das Dreiviertelbildnis des schwer Verwundeten mit freiem Oberkörper zu erkennen, der mit erhobenem Kopf und glänzenden, leicht tränenden Augen zum Himmel schaut. Zu seiner linken Seite die in einem rot-weißen Gewand mit gelbem Tuch gekleidete Irene, die gerade versucht einen Pfeil aus seinem Arm zu ziehen und ihn zu pflegen. Ein weiterer, bereits entfernter Pfeil liegt auf seinem mit Blutspritzern versehenen weißen Lendentuch. Im Hintergrund eine Helferin der Irene, die beim Pflegen der Wunden zuschaut und hilft. Feine qualitätvolle Malerei, wobei die Physiognomie des Heiligen und der fast makellose, leicht muskulöse helle Körper besonders hervorgehoben werden. Vereinzelt rest., teils Retuschen und an den Rändern teils Farbabrieb. Anmerkung: Nur wenige Heilige sind in der Kunst so oft dargestellt wie der Märtyrer Sebastian, der meist nackt an einem Baumstamm stehende, von Pfeilen durchbohrte junge Mann. In modo particolare con le tele del periodo inglese, ricordiamo le tele conservate alla Great Witley Church, l'opera è quindi collocabile ai primi decenni del XVIII secolo. Attivo a Venezia, Vienna, Düsseldorf e Londra, Bellucci incarna la moderna dimensione dell'artista itinerante, distinguendosi per la correttezza del disegno, una peculiare morbidezza cromatica e una spiccata sensibilità classicistica d'influenza emiliana. Aspetti, questi, che si riscontrano durante la maturità. Un altro confronto lo abbiamo con la Sacra Famiglia di collezione privata pubblicata da Magani e con La Madonna con il Bambino, Sant'Antonio di Padova e Santa Lucia custodita a Venezia all'Istituto nazionale di previdenza databile alla metà del terzo decennio (cfr. F. Magani, Antonio Bellucci, Rimini 1995, pp. 182-184, Magani, p. 185, n. 91). Ma a correggere la collocazione cronologica e puntualizzare la possibile attribuzione, contribuisce la Madonna con il Bambino della Gemäldegalerie di Dresda e databile tra il 1710 e il 1715 (Magani, p. 176, n. 81).

Lo stile e le stesure, infatti, rivelano ancora le suggestioni dei suoi primi maestri Pietro Liberi, Antonio Zanchi e Andrea Celesti, con echi del classicismo di Alessandro Varotari. Quindi verosimilmente la datazione si può collocare tra l'ottavo e il nono decennio, trovando corrispondenze con il Gesù Bambino presente nella Adorazioni dei Magi di Houston (Magani, pp. 76-77, n. 7) e i puttini del Venere e Marte già di collezione Steffanoni di Bergamo, datato dal Magani al 1690 circa.
