    David Bennett (American, born 1941), hand-blown glass and bronze horse sculpture. The stylized equine form is composed of clear blown glass elements suspended within a sculptural framework of welded bronze rods, creating a skeletal interpretation of a horse. The figure features a two-tone glass head with expressive facial detailing, clear glass ears, and a wire-form mane and tail. Artist's incised signature present on the glass at the rear of the sculpture. Dimensions: 27 X 26 X 19 in. Condition: Good overall condition with typical surface wear and patina. David Bennett studied in France and Murano, Italy, as well as the Pilchuck Glass School, before establishing his glass studio in Washington State where he lives and works. They were drawn to the way light interacted with the glass and installed custom lighting for their space to enhance their beauty and create a sense of movement and life within each piece. Appraisal - $15,000 dated 1999. Measures - 23 1/2" high x 34" long x 19" deep. David Bennett, born in The Dalles, Oregon, 1941, has an impressive background. He was a Captain in the United States Army from 1966-70. From there he became a lawyer from 1970-95. In 1991, Bennett established glass studio Bennett Glass, Inc. He was on the Board of Trustees, Pilchuck Glass School 1994-present. Then from 1998 to 99, he was President of Pilchuck Glass School.Selected Collections David Bennett is included in includes the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Cincinnati Art Museum; Daiichi Museum, Nagoya, Japan and the Museo del Vidro, Monterey in Mexico. David Bennett is considered to be in the same class of Dale Chihuly.
