Bent, Jan van der 1650 Amsterdam - 1690 - attributed Pastoral Scene. Later denoted lower right: Berchem. Oil on canvas. Relined. 97 x 77cm. Framed. As a former student of Niocolaes Berchem, Jan van der Bent liked to work in his style. Due to the fact that the quality of his work resembles that of his tutor, we find his signature on the Italian landscapes with shepherds and their cattle worked over and over again and being later attribtued to Berchem.
